Corporate Profile
WASTE WATER TREATMENT
Watertek is a System Research and Development Company whose employees led by Jeff White have been involved for over 40 years in infrastructure and environmental systems development. Through a continuing and extensive R&D program the Watertek team has successfully developed a number of firsts including proprietary and proven wastewater treatment processes for cold and tropical climates known as EVC®. This unique process works in cold as well as tropical climates around the world providing for better than tertiary standard treatment of municipal wastewater. The process operates in cold temperatures when others fail. Developed to address the problems our clients faced in freezing climates, this process of EVC® is very competitive in capital cost and has incomparable O and M costs, with systems of lesser performance.
As well, the combination of EVC® and Recirculating Intermittent Filtration System, creates one of the best performing, least expensive year-round wastewater treatment systems available today.
The Watertek team has applied its expertise and experience in all aspects of infrastructure development including design and construction of utilities (power, water, sewer telecom), water reservoirs, dams, water supply systems worldwide.
ENERGY FROM WASTE SYSTEMS
Waterteks Engineers, following years of R&D investment, have developed an energy from waste system, designed to overcome the traditional problems associated with incineration. These problems are economic and environmental in nature.
By utilizing vortex technology combined with high temperature, 3000 °F (1650 °C), the elimination of VOCs, carbon monoxide, methane gases generated from landfill, nitrous oxides et al., Watertek provides a dynamic flow-through energy-to-waste system that can generate a mega watt of power (1000 homes) for every 20 tonnes of municipal solid waste conversion per day. Biomass conversions as well as MSW systems to 150 Mega Watts are available.
Bottom waste from the systems have replaced hazard ash with 1 1.5 % ( by weight) vitrifiedwaste, classed non-hazardous following 15 year leaching test, meeting MISA 309 standards.
With years of significant investment in R&D, as well as a unique and innovative approach to design, the Watertek team has won several prestigious awards from the business world, governments, and from peers in the engineering industry. The most significant recognition, however, comes from our clients, who have benefited from the contribution the Watertek team has made to solving their problems.
Over 1000 projects have been completed for clients, including studies and analysis, appraisals design, build-operate, worldwide in 40 years, in countries such as Canada, USA, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Argentina, Scotland, France, Iceland, Spain, and Arctic Regions.
CORPORATE RESTRUCTURING
During 2008 Watertek has restructured its organization to meet demands for its services and systems world-wide.
FOOD WATER - ENERGY.GROUP
Recently Watertek concluded negotiations with Food Water and Energy of Great Britain, see www.food-water-energy.com telephone 44(0) 845-409-2820. F-W-E will represent Watertek in Europe and South America.
The association with F-W-E is an exciting international development for Watertek. This provides a new perspective and potential opportunities for Watertek in the food water and energy fields.
